Privacy notice for entrants

What we collect

An anonymous entry code for your play; your drawing and the game result; and, if you enter the draw, your email address, your confirmation that you are eligible, and whether you ticked the box to hear from Tzun. Playing without entering collects no email. If you win, we also collect what is needed to deliver the prize and to meet tax law: your name, a delivery address unless you collect the prize at the table, and, for the DGX Spark, the declaration and the tax form that sections 10 and 12 of the official rules describe.

Why

Your email is used to send you a copy of your entry receipt and to contact you if you win. Only if you tick the separate box (it starts unticked) do we also use it to send you news from Tzun. Your eligibility confirmation is kept to show that you entered under the official rules. If you win, your name may also be checked against US government restricted-party lists before the prize is awarded, and always for the DGX Spark (section 3 of the official rules).

Where it is kept

Your email address, your eligibility confirmation and your choice about news are sealed together, the moment you enter, into a file only Tzun can open, on an encrypted drive in Tzun’s possession. The public evidence chain holds no email, name, eligibility answer or entry code: only a salted digest of your code and a random play id. Your drawing appears on the booth screen only after a person approves it. To send you the copy of your receipt, the booth keeps your email address with your entry code and salt on that drive only until the email is sent, then deletes them; Tzun deletes its own copy of the sent email right after sending. With your entry, the booth also keeps a fingerprint of your email address, made with a secret key (a one-way code, not the address itself), used only to keep to one entry per email address: a second entry with the same address is not accepted, and a winner’s entry is checked again at a prize claim.

Your drawing

Your drawing stays yours. You give Tzun a free, non-exclusive licence to use it to run the game at the Tzun table; to show it on the booth screen, a winner’s card and the closing screen of the draw included, but only once a person approves it; to include it in the published evidence and the draw proof as a digest only (a fingerprint, never the image); and to show it, as it appears on the booth screen, in photographs and video of the booth in Tzun’s own posts and marketing about the booth, without your name. Tzun makes no other use of your drawing without your consent.

How long

If you did not tick the box, your email is deleted when the claim period ends, 19 days after the draw, unless your entry was drawn as a winner or an alternate. If you ticked it, we keep it to send you news until you ask us to stop. An alternate’s email is kept until every prize is claimed or not awarded, and then deleted unless that alternate took a prize or ticked the box. The fingerprints are deleted with the emails. Winners’ details and tax forms are kept as long as tax law requires. The drawing files are deleted after the show and the evidence keeps only their digests; Tzun’s photographs and video of the booth keep what the booth screen showed.

Your rights and contact

Tzun, Inc., at the address in section 2 of the official rules, is responsible for this information. You can ask Tzun for a copy of the personal information it holds about you, ask it to correct or delete it, or stop the news, by writing to [email protected]; asking costs nothing, and Tzun will not treat you differently for asking. Tzun keeps what the law requires it to keep, such as a winner’s tax forms. If you ask Tzun to delete your email address before every prize is awarded, Tzun can no longer contact you if your entry wins; the entry record itself, which holds no email, name or entry code, stays in the published evidence. Your personal information is not sold or shared for advertising. With the sections above, this is Tzun’s notice at collection: they say what is collected, why, and how long it is kept.
